Defiant Hot House Simmers Down a Notch

Faced with the task of juggling over 20 non-existent personalities on their reality slide show, Channel 10 were quick to dash the hopes of many viewers with running yet another non-elimination episode of The Hot House.

Ratings as a void and the landscape, Sunday's episode primed ribbed steaks with a double elimination. Much like renegade builders, their definition of a single show was sliced in two and taken forth across into Monday. A complaisant farce by no stretch, sister couple Jacintha and Shivaune were the first to be laid off in a round of voting which included the excuse of "You wore black socks with white shoes. That just isn't right."

Despite the fact that host Erika Heynatz reprimanded the early ploy of socks and shoes, the follow-up couple of Pete and Tina—newly installed themselves much like the polystyrene foundation—were easily taken out with the resounding fall back of "We hardly knew ye and failed to even bother" and "Had to vote for someone."

Unfortunately, while viewers were hoping for a week long succession of lay offs, the producers haven't ponied up. Presumably, while it may have been interesting to eliminate couples all week long, the unfinished house still stood as a reminder of the cheap labour that would have gone missing.
