The Wax Conspiracy

Three strike outs and a hang man to complete the game

Dashing lines across the pages, strikes flare up as the intent rages on through the week.

From the political angle, the Guantanamo Bay hunger strikers face up front. Their conditions a concern with the sharing of nose hoses running rampant under watch. Conditions cruel no doubt, the prospect of gruel to rule their nightmarish screams. Is this what their religion has brought them?

Fairfax journalists and editorial staff of the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and Good Weekend walk off the job. Striking to strike on the grounds of solidarity with their press collective. Proposed slashing of their jobs leading the men and women lording over the keyboards to throw an epee into the fray.

Israeli war planes bringing air strikes complete the triad of slashing. An extremely explosive example of striking if ever there was one to count. Upfront feet afoot in the thirst in being first.

With enough strikes on the chalk board, the game is over when the hang man is complete. For convicted drug smuggler Van Nguyen, hints of Australian pockets pressuring Singapore for clemency will spoil any air time. Cry the little children, no reach stronger for their caps of choice.
