Media Puzzle puzzles media

Flemington yesterday saw the annual racing of the thoroughbreds for what is known as the Melbourne Cup. The winning jockey was a half-man many refer to as Damian Oliver. Brother to this wee folksman is Jason Oliver, also a man known for whipping the horses with leather. In a poignant move the horse, Media Puzzle, snuck in over the line in three lengths to win the cup.

One week prior to the finish, Jason was killed in a training run around a track. Today the funeral of dead jockey is being held. Damian was seen yesterday prior to the race walking the run checking the track with an umbrella.

Having tasted the win of a Melbourne Cup once previously it isn't far-fetched to believe that the tragic flattening of the oompa loompa sibling was an elaborate plan for the second.

Killed his brother; took the glory. Deflection came in the way of a salute to his dead sibling at the acceptance.

There will not be any formal inquiries into this 'special' win.

Update - 3 December 2002

Out from the gates, an inquiry to this very suspicious equine fall.
