I have become convinced that the editors of The Daily Telegraph are either completely insane or are playing an elaborate joke on us.
As it stands, Australia is, right or wrong, at the brink of following the USA into a war.
Add to this a plethora of domestic troubles; a refugee crisis, gun violence, a massive drought that is said to cover 99% of NSW farmland, employment centres, and the fact that The Vines are going back into the studio to record another album.
Yet, despite this overabundance of important issues the editors of The Daily Telegraph saw fit to print on page 2, page 2 mind you, an article about a couple who had 50 wedding photographs returned to them after they had been lost.
Understand: I'm 100% happy that these people have managed to find love and photographs, especially in these turbulent times. Therein, however, lies the crux of my complaint; these times are turbulent and there are many other issues, important issues, that the newspapers should be reporting on.
If you insist on having inane filler articles, at least have the decency to make them about Pat Rafter or Shane Warne or something like that.
Anyhow, listen: Much love and much respect to Jimmy Weasel who is braving deepest, darkest (not a racial slur) Africa in the name of philanthropy. Take care and whatnot.
