Holiday Road Fatalities Clean Up Numbers

Operation: Safe Arrival ended not too many days ago and the results clearly show an improvement in the numbers to the year previous. 75 deaths in the 2003 Christmas period compared to the 67 knocked off in the 2002 season. Piling up on top, New South Wales with 22 bodies and wallowing with zero, the ACT.

Things weren't looking all too good starting out for the premiere state. Queensland claimed their first casualty with a 50-year-old man who attempted to start off the tolls with a deuce by 4WD. By day two NSW and QLD were deadlocked at one a piece only to see Victoria run off with 5 bodies. As the days melted on and the bodies were counted, Victoria were still just ahead of both Queensland and NSW.

With only a few hours to go before the final countdown New South Wales raced out to 22 with a buffer of at least three between them and second place. In the end, that left them with the title of most road fatalities for the 2003 Christmas holiday season.

Red Riding Trilogy
This is an attempt to understand the newish British television series Red Riding. Due to the regional accents, the muttering, the byzantine plot, and that British inability to provide subtitles, I am writing a detailed synopsis to get my head around this excellent television show. In short, it is nothing but spoilers, spoilers, spoilers...

Lassitude abandons the Throwing Knives
Down on the chamber pot, the percolating smells brew up quite the nasal fest. From the wafting fumes, the air solidifies partial sweaty rock and musty punk, a taste hinting at delicious pockets of after-aftertaste, and the not so floral punch of an undone music interview leaves the tongue wanting something else.

Undone, unbound, the sounds aground, life's taking the train with a soundtrack of harmonic dissonance, of inner turmoils and evolutionary spotchecking.
