Stringing together as much as numerically sound, 10x6. A jam of three old and three newly commissioned works to begin five dashed performances on Thursday, 22 January at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre.
Issued in the tensely thick postcards heralding its impending brief run in the light of shadows, a slogan, "stretching the boundaries between suburbs and centres" that seems to stand on its own. That then would indicate that the writers of the material knew not of the constant struggle. A struggle between weak councils looking to stem the reasons put forth for plans to merge one council after another into what would ultimately be a huge patch.
"Elastic is a program of ten-minute dramas by six emerging writers who have drawn their inspiration from the complexity and diversity of life in Sydney's Western Suburbs." Three of whom apparently are still emerging despite having already had their chance in previous outings of the initiative.
